琴丸, Koto-maru. means literally "Round Koto." 丸 can also be used as a suffix to indicate that a word is being used purely as a name, a concept that doesn't translate very well. (ED)

Koto maru is a green witches' broom dwarf maple with penny sized leaves. New growth is a yellow orange that turns to a deep green as the leaf matures. Koto maru forms a compact and slow growing dwarf to about 2' tall. (Round harp) (DSN)
