東城川, Tōjō-gawa, actually refers to the Nariwa River, which runs though the town of Tōjō in Hiroshima Prefecture. It is likely the local name for the river, as the town is literally built on the banks. Tōjō is known for it's Otōri Festival, which has a 400 year history, celebrating victory in a battle in 1600 CE. It features traditions unique to the town. The Checklist 1st ed. incorrectly omitted the macrons in Tōjō. (ED)
