Selected by Mr. Seki Kazuo in 1970, せきの華厳 (as we may assume the name may be written in Japanese), Seki-no-kegon, was named for the nearby Kegon Waterfalls, 華厳滝. This attractive weeping maple was finally introduced in 2008. (ED)
Seki no kegon is a horizontal, semi weeping form of A. sieboldianum. Mature height is unknown, but probably in the 6-foot range, with a spread exceeding 10 feet. Fall's color is a good orange and red. (DSN, as Seki no kegan)
