天山錦, Ten-zan-nishiki also means "Brocade of the Heavenly Mountain." It should not be confused with Tensyan-no-nishiki, as this maple, named by Yano, is Acer tataricum ssp. semenovii. The name references the Celestial Palaces of the Deva, the realms of Buddhist Gods. The maple exhibits a slight, dusting variegation of white. (ED)
