ICNCP Name: 'Kō-shi-miya-sama'

Kohshi miyasama(Esveld). 紅糸宮様、Kō-shi-miya-sama means "Palace of Red Threads," as Yano explains, the name deriving from the color of the new shoots. こう (kō) is an on'yomi reading of the native "beni." Note that the somewhat archaic 宮様, "miya-sama" is defined as hyphenated in Kenkyusha 4th ed, where it means "Imperial Prince" when used directly, and its use here clarifies the image of this cultivar's prestige.
