小富士錦, Kofuji-nishiki, means "Brocade of Kofuji (peak)". 小富士, Kofuji (Little Fuji) is a smaller volcanic peak in Yamanashi, only some 10 km from Mount Fuji itself, where hiking to the top will reveal spectacular views of the greater mountain. This white variegated plant is meant to be a sport from 'Oba-uri-kaede'. (ED)
