滝の川, Taki-no-gawa, means "River of Waterfalls" or "Rapids River." There is a 滝川 Taki-gawa (Taki River) in Nagano Prefecture, but this name seems more metaphorical than referential. (ED) Taki no gawa (DSN, MrMaple)
Taki-no-gawa is a semi dwarf A. japonicum forming shrub to about 10', as wide as tall. It gives the appearance of a small version of Vitifolium. The fall color is an excellent orange and red. (DSN. as Taki no gawa)
