Koba shojo (MrMaple) Koba shohjoh (Esveld), 小葉握々 means Small-leaved Shōjō, likely relating to the cultivar 'Shōjō', but referencing the red-faced and haired, alcohol loving Sea-spirit to emphasize the red qualities of the plant. (ED)
Koba shôjô is a small shrub with star shaped leaves. Leaf color is like Chitose yama: red in spring, orange red and then green in summer. Fall color is an excellent scarlet. (DSN, as Kobo shojo)
