皇居, Kōkyo, is the word for the Imperial Palace in Tokyo. So the name is wrongly written as Kokyo, but remains. (ED)

Kokyo originated as a seedling from the emperor's palace in Tokyo. It will form a compact upright tree to about 15' or even up to 30'. Fall color is a striking orange red. (Imperial palace) (DSN)
