高麗錦, Koma-nishiki, is an interesting case of spoken Japanese as a rōmaji, v. the actual words. 高麗 is "kōrai", referring to Goryeo, a Korean Kingdom between the 10th and 14th centuries. But the pronunciation, given with the Hiragana こまにしき is different: the 'o' is shortened and the 'r' becomes an 'm'. So the rōmaji name Koma-nishikiis legitimate, meaning "Korean Brocade" of more specifically "Goryo Brocade." (ED)
