Rugose is a different upright palmatum to about 10'. Leaves are twisted and rough in texture. Leaves are red in spring, fading to a medium green. Branches are also twisted giving the plant a distinct look. Fall's color is a good orange and red. It is probably the same scion as Red Rugose. (DSN)
