Seiryu (Esveld/Mr Maple/DSN) 青竜.Sei-ryū means "Azure Dragon." 青竜 is a significant figure in East Aisian mythology, one of rhe Four Symbols, representing the East, blue or green and the element "wood." Although we might not normally separate Seiryū, as a known name, in this case there are several other words where the unseparated rōmaji mean different things: we might have seiryū = "limpid stream, "refinement", or "commutation". Two of three would make nice epithets, and without the Kanji there is no way to know the actually meaning. By separating as Sei-ryų we follow the ICNCP instructions to err on the side of clarity with respect to word separation. (ED)
Seiryū is an upright green laceleaf. The foliage is a pleasant bright green that gives the plant a delicate appearance. Seiryu is a strong grower with excellent orange and red fall foliage. (Pure stream) (DSN, as Seiryu)
