鳥見山. Torimi-yama, "Torimi Hill" is a park in Nara with a lovely pond. It is accessible by car. The name means literally "Bird Watching Hill." The site is traditionally seen as the place where Emperor Jinmu, the mythical First Emperor of Japan, stood and surveyed his realm. There are various Torimi Shrines still in existence. (ED)
