Tsukushigata (DSN, MrMaple) 筑紫潟, Tsukushi-gata, means "Tsukushi Beach." Tsukushi Province was found in what is now Fukuoka Prefecture, on Kyūshū Island. While gata means lit. As such it was an important melting pot for influence and trends from abroad. Note that this cultivar is not the same as that mentioned in the 1882 list. (ED)
