Tsuma-gaki(Hilliers Manual 2014). 爪柿, or Tsuma-gaki, translates to "Persimmon Pink Nails" (as in nail polish color), a dark reddish pink. (ED)
Tsuma gaki has truly outstanding spring foliage with leaves that have yellow-green lobes with purplish-red fingernails. The summer color is a dark green; the fall color is red. Shade is helpful to prolong spring colors. In time Tsuma gaki will form a small tree at 8' in height. (DSN)
