釣錦, Tsuri-nishiki, means "Brocade of Angling," angling as in fishing. It's a curious epithet, appearing to reference a brocade woven with angling themes, perhaps different fish, rods and nets. It was not uncommon for brocades to depict scenes from nature or daily life. (ED)
Tsuri nishiki has a deeply divided green leaf. The leaves are often twisted, and have a distinctive red monkey face venation on the new growth. The fall color is orange and red. It will mature to a plant wider than tall, to about 12'. Tsuri nishiki is similar to Nishiki momiji. (DSN)
