宇賀志川, Ugashi-gawa means "Ugashi River." This river is of great significance to lovers of Japanese Maples, because it is very near Yano-san's World Maple Park. No doubt it was named for that reason, and one can imagine that it was a place Yano-san enjoyed and often visited. (ED)
