佗人, Wabi-bito, means "Person with a Taste for Quiet Simplicity." Although the DSN translation is not idiomatically incorrect, it doesn't take into account the meaning of 佗, wabi, central to the concept of wabi-sabi, 侘寂 which plays an important role in traditional Japanese culture. 1The "quiet simpliciy" part here is directly from Kenkyusha's 4th ed. definition. There is rendaku consonant voicing change from hito to bito. (ED)
Wabi bito is a slow growing green fastigiate upright with twisted leaves. It could be considered a semi dwarf version of Mama. Fall color is orange and red. (Lonely person) (DSN, as Wabito)
