夢殿, Yume-dono, means "Dream Palace" very literally. The usual rendaku consonant voicing change turns 殿, tono into dono. The Dream Palace concept is important in Buddhist and Japanese culture, as a place of remembrance, an area of special meditation, or even an area to safeguard precious relics. For example, in the important Hōryū-ji Temple, an octagonal Dream Palace was constructed to memorialize the temples founder Pring Shōtoku (574-662 CE). This hall is now a UNESCO World Heritage site.
