Although there are several Kongō place-names in Japan, this seems most likely to reference 金剛山, Kongō-san, the highest mountain at 1,125 m in the Osaka Prefecture. It is known the beauty of its waterfalls and hiking trails, as well as shrines and ruins. 金剛, Kongō, means lit. Diamond-hard Gold. (ED)
