新日笠, Shin-hikasa, means "New Hikasa." By itself, hikasa means "a sun hat", it is a single word conceptually and so not hyphenated. There appear to be two version on the market, one extremely variegated like 'Snow Kitten', the other a marginatum like 'Hikasa yama' (ED)

Shin hikasa is a beautiful, variegated dwarf with bright pink, red, and cream spring growth on the second-year wood. New growth is a medium green and can be lightly variegated. It is probably a collector's plant only. Fall color is yellow. (DSN)
