夕栄, Yū-bae, means "Evening Glory" and evokes the lovely large leaves of this cultivar gleaming in the evening sun. (ED) Yubae (DSN)

Yûbae is a red upright Japanese maple with translucent leaves. Variegation is seldom (or never) seen. It is however one of the better red upright in color especially with the light shining through leaves. The fall color is a crimson red. (Evening glow) (DSN, as Yubae) (夕栄 ED)
