Each of these gardens and nurseries are members of both the Maple Society and Northwest Perennial Alliance (NPA). As members of NPA, they are opening their gardens for visits on specific NPA tour dates—during which you can also visit as their guest. If you see a sign-in sheet at the garden... simply sign in as their guest.

Lael’s Moon Garden Nursery
This is a full-service nursery in a lovely garden setting. There are many beautiful paths to wander and landscape creations to give you ideas. The nursery is stocked with many rare and unusual plants along with the standard nursery plant materials. This nursery has been a longtime supporter of the Maple Society.

Dan and Jeanne Everts' Garden
This small residential garden is home to well over 100 varieties of Japanese maple and dwarf conifer treasures. They have managed to collect many rare cultivars and display them tastefully in the garden and in containers. The back yard features a small stream that recirculates into the koi pond.

Jim and Julie Singer's Garden
Jim has an incredible collection of extremely rare dwarf and miniature conifers from all over the world. They also have an impressive collection of Japanese maples and other garden plantings displayed beautifully in a residential garden setting. Jim and Julie have agreed to open their garden for Maple Society members ONLY, so you won’t have to compete with the NPA open garden visitors.
Note:
Jim Singer will be offering some plants for sale at his open garden event, some of which will be rather rare and unnamed seedlings from his collection.

Vista Gardens
This four-acre botanical paradise is nestled into the hillside of Bremerton, Washington. The garden has many well-maintained trails that wind through the terrain to create incredible vistas. The garden also hosts many educational and entertaining workshops throughout the year for its members. You will likely be so impressed you will want to become a member and visit often. Vista Gardens has also been featured in many YouTube video clips to give you a little taste of how this garden was created and will be sustained in the future.

Blue Frog Nursery
This woodland garden/nursery—family created, owned and operated by Russ and Miriam Smith—is truly a hidden treasure! They specialize in Japanese Maples, but you will find other small container trees and shrubs selected for pre-Bonsai material, including Satsuki azaleas, all propagated and grown to size on site. Be prepared to be amazed at the lovely pathways and artistic creations in this garden, after which you'll have an opportunity to purchase many varieties of Japanese maples (and other nursery items) at very reasonable prices.

Camille and Dirk Paulsen's Garden
On a clear day, you will be rewarded with an outstanding view of Mount Rainier from this transformed space. The only problem is that you will be so distracted by the overwhelming beauty of this garden that the mountain will seem a little less significant. Camille has definitely established herself as a world class garden design influencer. If you search Camille Paulsen Garden on YouTube, you will find a handful of video clips to captivate you. Once you’ve seen it in a video, you will understand why you MUST see the garden in person.

Bill Hibler and Cathy Gorrell's Garden
This West Seattle garden is nestled into a hillside that would challenge the most robust gardener. Bill and Cathy have used their passion for maples, conifers, and all things botanical to create a garden paradise. As current president of the Maple Society of North America and actively involved with many other botanical organizations, Bill Hibler has collected some of the most rare and unusual cultivars to share with garden visitors.

Dana Niblack's Garden
Dana has transformed a long-neglected overgrown yard into a series of garden "rooms," including a drought-tolerant sunny front garden, a cutting garden, the "hot" garden (so named because it features red, orange and yellow colors that are favored by Dana's husband Paul_, and a meditation garden (pictured). Dana enjoys experimenting with plant combinations and trialing new cultivars so there's always something new going on.
