Southeast Region - open to members and non-members
Chattanooga, Tennessee
Maple Society members had a chance to renew old friendships and make new friends as we toured and dined amidst amazing private gardens, prowled excellent local nurseries, and visited Jensfarm Maples—member Jennifer Tucker’s outstanding maple specialty nursery.
The mountains and valleys of southeast Tennessee were a wonderful region to visit—cooler and enjoyable to be outside amidst beautiful and interesting gardens with maple friends. We truly enjoyed seeing everyone!
Saturday Itinerary
Gathered for breakfast and a tour of members Scott and Olga Drucker's beautiful cottage gardens in the historic Saint Elmo neighborhood of Chattanooga
Visited the Barn Nursery
Drove up to Signal Mountain
Enjoyed a garden tour and barbecue picnic lunch in the garden at member Judy Nowlin's marvelous garden
Delighted in a private tour of Frances Jones' expansive rambling Dolan Gardens
Visited the family-owned Signal Mountain Nursery
Spent the evening touring member Hale and Susan Booth's ten acre woodland garden, where we enjoyed a casual dinner, tasty beverages, and an outdoor fire
Sunday Itinerary
The day began at Jensfarm Maples, where after hot coffee and doughnuts, we enjoyed a tour of Jennifer's arboretum and specialty nursery—packed with small, very affordable maples available for purchase. This was an excellent opportunity to see and learn about new introductions, as well as maple selections which we were unfamiliar with, but realized we needed. :-)
