In and around Snohomish and Arlington, Washington
The Pilchuck chapter of the American Rhododendron Society cordially invite fellow garden friends from the Maple Society on a tour of selected private gardens filled with ornamental trees and companion plants (in addition to their beloved rhododendrons).
This self guided tour will allow you to forge your own path and timing to visit a total of four gardens, or you can follow a suggested route. Either way, the plant party will be ready for you, rain or shine, with fires blazing in outdoor fire pits if it rains.
Snacks and refreshments will likely be on hand, but bring a sack lunch to eat at the garden of your choice since there aren't any convenient lunch options.
Carpooling is recommended, as some of these gardens have limited parking.
Garden Line-Up
Each garden is approximately 5 acres and all of them feature a variety of plants, shrubs, and trees. Two of the gardens have hills, two are flat, all are wooded, and have good trail systems in place. A walking stick or poles for creaky knees is advised.
Keyhole Gardens / Doug Keough in Snohomish
Nicoletti’s Garden / Rose and Bruce in Snohomish
Fairfield’s Garden / Richard and Jenifer in Snohomish
B.&C. Gardens / Bill & Cheryl Gray in Arlington

End the Day with Shopping
Be sure to stop by Sunnyside Nursery in Marysville before 5pm, as they're offering a 20% discount on all plants for tour participants, and typically have an EXCELLENT selection of Japanese maples. At the check out counter, before you ring up, tell the cashier you're from the Rhododendron/Maple Society garden tour.
RSVP Required
Please click the above button to RSVP to Maple Society member Dan Everts, so he can provide our garden hosts with an approximate head count. He'll reply back to you with all the details including garden addresses, wayfinding, and sequencing tips (all gardens are located between 15 and 30 minutes apart).
